Email messages can be intercepted. You don't need to know how and why. You just need to know that it is possible, but there are ways to protect your privacy. PDF Postman can be considered one of the most efficient solutions, due to its smart capabilities. Its main advantage is the fact that you can send a message as an encrypted PDF document. It lets you encrypt attachments as well, but the best part is that PDF Postman is very easy to use.

PDF Postman is a plugin for Outlook, so you must have this MS Office component installed on your computer before anything else. Installing the plugin is not difficult and it takes only a few moments to complete the process. It is compatible with MS Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 and you can use it on any 32 or 64-bit Windows version, from Windows XP to Windows 7.

PDF Postman's core functions can be found when composing a new message. You may choose one of three options, located on the toolbar, to encrypt the message itself, convert attached documents to encrypted PDF files or include them into a secure PDF. When you send a message, while an encryption feature is active, a new window will show up, on which you must type or generate a password.

After creating a password, you can choose to save it, by selecting this option from a drop menu, on the same window. Passwords are associated with individual recipients. What's more, you can associate passwords with contacts, without sending any messages, on PDF Postman's general settings panel. In this way, the application will not prompt you for a password, if you send a message to a saved contact.

If you encrypt a message, your contact will receive a PDF and he will have to open it and provide the correct password before reading your message. The subject line of an encrypted message will be replaced with a text fragment which you can edit. The message itself will be replaced as well, with a predefined template, a custom message or a message from a file, in TXT, HTML or OFT format. Other options, on the general settings panel, allow you to change the application's behavior, select a 128 or 256-bit AES encryption or choose to store your passwords in a local or remote database.

Pros

PDF Postman gives you the possibility of sending emails as encrypted PDF documents. You can associate passwords with individual recipients, so you don't have to create a new password each time you send a message to a specific contact. It is also possible to convert attached documents to PDF or include them into an encrypted PDF.

Cons

You can not select more than one encryption option. While using PDF Postman, with MS Outlook, any message you send will be unreadable, unless the receiver provides the correct password.
